Dusted & Delicious began life in 2000 with just two part-time cooks catering for friends and family from a domestic kitchen. Several years later, we have seven fulltime staff members and a revolving group of part-timers, working in the commercial kitchen of the Purple Hatch Cafe at Te Whaea Dance and Drama Centre in Newtown. The cafe is a magnet for Te Whaea's dance and drama students - and their teachers - attracted by the tasty food, excellent coffee and great company provided by owner Liz Means and her principal cook, Jo de Vries.
Whether it's morning tea for five or a wedding feast, we'll provide food that is satisfying and unpretentious. It's soul food good quality, hand-prepared, wholesome and attractive. In fact, it's the food you'd cook yourself if you had the time and the skill! We'll deliver the food plated and ready to eat. You can serve it yourself, or we'll provide staff to serve it for you. For completely stress-free entertaining we'll even organise your drinks, glassware, and provide bar staff including licensed bar managers if the need arises. Liz has recently spent four months at the New Zealand School of Food and Wine further developing her cooking and baking skills - this has inspired some additional, exciting dishes. Some of them French inspired!
